Mark Newsom is President and Founder of Health Evaluations, a boutique consultancy supporting businesses, trade groups and investors in the government health programs space. Mark’s 30 years of experience span both the private and public sectors of healthcare. Mark served nearly a decade at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), driving various policy and operational functions in Medicare Advantage, Part D and for Part B drugs in Original Medicare. Mark previously served at the Congressional Research Service (CRS) supporting Members of Congress and their staff in developing the private health insurance reforms included the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Earlier in his career, Mark provided analytic support for New York State Medicaid in Erie County and to the Medicaid Directors Association. In industry, Mark previously served as Vice President of Public Policy Analysis at Humana and in Director level roles at both CVS Health and Coventry. Mark currently is an Advisor to Sensorum Health and serves on the Boards of the Health Policy Futures Lab (HPFL) and the Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI).
